NOTICE OF

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

WYNDHAM NETBALL ASSOCIATION INC

 

TUESDAY 16TH OCTOBER 2018

 

7:30pm (sign in from 7:00pm)

EAGLE STADIUM

MEETING ROOMS 1 & 2

BALLAN ROAD, WERRIBEE

 

The Business of the Meeting will be:

 

  • To receive reports from the Board on the activities of the Association for the year ended 30th June 2018.
  • To receive the financial report from the Treasurer for the year ending 30th June 2018.
  • To approve the statement required to be submitted by the Association in accordance with S 30(3) of the Associations Incorporation Act.
  • To inform members of changes to the By-Laws of the Association.
  • To elect the President and 10 other Members of the Committee for the year 2019.
    (NB: in accordance with changes made at last year’s AGM, the following will occur:
    • Delegates will elect the President and 10 other Members.
    • The President and five Members will hold their positions for two years; the remaining five will be elected for one year. This is for 2019 only: from 2020, all Board Members will be elected for two year periods.
    • All positions except President will be determined by the Board at the first meeting (these are: Vice President, Treasurer, Administration Secretary, Incorporation Secretary and 6 general members).
  • Confirmation of arrangements for forthcoming finals.
  • 2019 Autumn season registration details.
  • To discuss items of general business from the Members of the Association.

 

Nominations for President and Members can be submitted before the meeting on the enclosed form.  Nominations will also be taken from the Members in attendance on the day if insufficient nominations have been received prior to the meeting opening.

 

Nominations for President must be received by the Association 21 to 14 days prior to the AGM (pg. 21 of the Constitution).

 

Items of general business can be submitted before the meeting on the enclosed form.

 

All Teams must be represented at the Annual General Meeting by an authorised Delegate. In accordance with changes agreed to at last year’s AGM, the number of Delegates per Team has been changed. They are as follows:

 

  • Clubs with 1 – 5 teams require a minimum of 1 Delegate
  • Clubs with 6 – 11 teams require a minimum of 2 Delegates
  • Clubs with 12 or more require a minimum of 3 Delegates

 

The above are minimum requirements only. Clubs can send one delegate for each team if they wish.

 

Penalty for non-attendance is 8 game points.  Notification of your Delegate is required on the enclosed form.

 

A Delegate must be an adult. Delegates are responsible for noting items at the meeting and communicating them to their respective team/s.

It is planned to limit the business of the meeting to 1.5 hours for the convenience of those in attendance.
